Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search box is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the entry and supplies its result. Bernalillo County Criminal History does not keep a separate log or database of those query terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor sends an email, the message may be retained long enough to review and answer it. It is not shared beyond the operating team unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine technical logs may record the device IP address, browser and version, operating system, device type, pages viewed, visit length, referral source, and timestamps. These details help operate and assess the website.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics tools can measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. A browser can refuse or clear cookies, although some functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate, secure, and improve page performance
- Send a submitted query to the selected search provider
- Measure which resources visitors use
- Diagnose errors and prevent misuse
- Support relevant advertising
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Bernalillo County Criminal History does not maintain or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general routing information for records held by Bernalillo County courts, police agencies, the Metropolitan Detention Center, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, the New Mexico Corrections Department, and the New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry / OffenderWatch. Visitor data is not compiled into a consumer report.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted to a provider is governed by that provider's own privacy terms, retention practices, and disclosure rules. Review those terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to New Mexico agencies, Bernalillo County offices, court portals, or outside services. Their privacy rules apply after a visitor leaves this website. Advertising providers may also use their own systems to measure activity across sites.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to the search provider handling a query, analytics and hosting vendors supporting the site, advertising networks serving an ad, or a public body acting under a valid legal demand.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used for information under the site's control. No internet service can guarantee complete security, and this policy does not promise that a breach or interruption can never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor may be deleted when the operator becomes aware of it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may permit a person to request access, correction, deletion, or limits on certain processing. New Mexico's Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978 §§14-2-1 through 14-2-12, applies to government records, while NMSA 1978 §29-10-6 governs a person's access to their own state arrest-record information. Neither law turns this private website into the custodian of Bernalillo County government records. Requests about visitor data are assessed under the law that applies to the requester and the service.
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised as services or legal duties change. A revised version takes effect when posted here with its new date.
