Why We Built This Site
Finding the right Bernalillo County office can be harder than finding a search form. Second Judicial District Court keeps felony case files, Metropolitan Court handles first appearances and much of the county's lower criminal docket, and the Metropolitan Detention Center holds booking and custody data. Police reports remain with the agency that created them. The New Mexico Department of Public Safety maintains the state repository and registry. Bringing the official contacts, request routes, limits, and fees into one reference helps readers avoid asking the County Clerk or a police agency for records held elsewhere.
What You Will Find Here
- Local record routes: clear paths to Bernalillo County courts, MDC, BCSO, and city police records
- State resources: the subject-authorized NMDPS record-review process, NMCD Offender Search, and New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry / OffenderWatch
- Process details: official request fields, copy fees, search limits, and fallback contacts supported by project research
- Record context: distinctions among an arrest report, booking entry, court case, disposition, and repository history
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site with no link to a New Mexico court, sheriff, police department, jail, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:
- It cannot produce an official criminal record or conduct an official check
- It cannot submit an IPRA request or expungement petition for a visitor
- It cannot certify a court paper, booking record, registry entry, or rap sheet
- It cannot give legal advice about a charge, warrant, sentence, or expungement
- It cannot guarantee that an agency's hours, fees, links, or contact details have not changed
Only the government office that maintains a record can issue or certify it. Confirm current details with that office before relying on them.
Search Partners
Some pages contain search boxes run by outside providers. Those providers control their own results, prices, data practices, and signup terms. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that helps support the site. The presence of a search box does not make its output an official Bernalillo County or New Mexico record.
